Questions

Is it really a one-time payment?

Yes. Personal and Professional are yours to keep, forever. They include every update for a year. After that, Veil keeps working; you can buy the next major version when you want it.

Do you ever see my documents?

No. Detection, text recognition and export all happen on your computer, and Veil works offline. We only receive your account and license details, never your files.

How does the AI assistant work without seeing my files?

The assistant is optional, and it uses your own ChatGPT plan or your own OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter key. Before anything is sent, Veil swaps names and identifiers for placeholders like [PERSON_1]. What you type into forms and profiles is never sent. "What the AI sees" shows you the exact text.

Is Veil HIPAA compliant?

Compliance depends on how your practice works, so no software can promise it. What we can say: Veil never receives patient data, and HIPAA mode looks for the 18 identifiers in HIPAA's Safe Harbor method. Always review the results before you share.

Which computers does it run on?

macOS on Apple silicon, Windows 10 and 11, and Linux. One license covers two computers, even if one is a Mac and the other runs Windows.
